Paving Norfolk

BEFORE AND AFTER

Every job is different which is why we approach each one as an individual project tailored to your needs.

Extended Driveway Norwich

The front garden was part narrow driveway / part stone. The brickweave driveway had deteriorated and water had started to collect in areas where the bricks had sunk. As there was only sufficient parking for one car, the gravel area was being used for a second car which resulted in gravel spreading onto the driveway.

We widened the driveway area to allow room to park two cars and laid the new blocks on a concrete base. The same type of block paving was used to edge the driveway for a neat finish. The gravel area was reduced in size, and new gravel laid to provide an area for placing container plants.

Sloped Block Paved Driveway Norwich

The existing driveway was concrete and only wide enough for one car. As the property was in an elevated position, the driveway had a steep incline.

The driveway was excavated to create enough width to park two cars and block paving laid on a concrete base. To ensure that the driveway met current regulations, channel drainage was laid near the bottom of the slope to take any surface water away from the road and into a soakaway constructed in the garden.

Random pattern Block Paving, Norwich

The driveway was laid to gravel which frequently encroached on the adjacent public path. Weeds were growing in the gravel and leaves from surrounding hedges and trees were difficult to remove from the surface.

The gravel was removed and replaced with random pattern block paving, edged with square blocks. The new surface could be easily swept clean of leaves and was free of weeds.

Norwich brickweave driveway with additional parking

The frontage to the property was part driveway and part garden. The garden area was laid to gravel with a few shrubs which needed frequent maintenance.

The existing low wall was removed and a new brickweave driveway laid the full width of the property creating additional parking / turning space and a contemporary look to the property.

Brickweave driveway Norwich

The existing driveway was constructed of paving slabs which also ran across the front of the property as a narrow path. The slabs had been laid right up to the house causing the pointing and brick face to deteriorate during winter and problems with damp indoors.

The slabs were taken up and replaced with a brickweave driveway. The front path was widened and curves put in to follow the lines of the property.

Brick Paved Driveway Norwich

The driveway was laid to gravel which often encroached onto the lawn and the neighbour's drive. An unsightly manhole cover was in a prominent position on the drive and weeds were spreading across the gravel.

The gravel was removed and replaced with blocks in a stretcher bond pattern with matching edging blocks. The manhole cover was set with the same blocks to blend in with the block paved driveway.

New patio

The existing paving slabs had become overtaken by weeds making the area unsightly and unusable.

The old slabs were removed and new slabs laid with the correct gravel trap to the external walls of the conservatory, house and garage. The paving was finished with a brick sett border. The new patio provided ample space for the whole family to enjoy.

Norwich Brickweave Driveway

The existing driveway was constructed from concrete which had started to break up and make the approach to the property look dated and untidy.

The concrete was removed and replaced with red brickweave, edged with charcoal blocks. This instantly updated the appearance and the new brickweave driveway gave improved kerb appeal to the whole property.

Widened brick paved driveway Norwich

The existing driveway was constructed of tarmac which had deteriorated leading to weeds breaking through the surface. The rest of the front garden consisted of a lawn, shrubs and a shingle path. The stones from the path were encroaching onto the lawn and driveway and the front garden required frequent maintenance.

We removed the old driveway surface and part of the lawn. Blocks were laid in a stretcher bond pattern from the garage to the front door so a seperate path was no longer required. The manhole cover was inset with blocks so it blended into the block paved driveway. A more manageable area of lawn and flower beds was retained.

Contemporary brickweave driveway in Norwich

The bungalow was well presented but was being let down by the existing concrete driveway which had begun to break up and let weeds through. The neighbour's driveway had been brick paved some time before and our customer also wanted brick paving at the same level but in a contrasting colour & style to define the seperate driveways.

We laid red brick paving in a brickweave pattern with a charcoal border and red edging bricks. The brickweave driveway extended to a path at the front of the bungalow and edging bricks around a low maintenance shingle area and borders. The result was a contemporary design which complemented the property.

Low Maintenance Front Garden

The front garden was laid to grass with a sloping slabbed path leading up to the front door. Shrubs at the front of the house had become overgrown and difficult to keep tidy. We installed a smaller circular area of lawn, bordered with block pavers. Slate steps were laid up to the front door and the area around the house covered with slate chippings. The remainder of the garden was left as borders for the customer to fill with plants of their choice. The new garden was low maintenance and complemented the style of house perfectly.

Shingle front garden

The existing garden was laid with crazy paving and weeds had grown inbetween the gaps. The rest of the garden was very overgrown and wasn't doing justice to the customers attractive home. We removed soil to level the ground, laid gravel and installed two borders. We also laid a block paved path leading from the customer's door to their driveway. The new garden looked neater and was easy to maintain.

New patio & paths

The customer's old patio had deteriorated over the years. An area of paving that had recently been installed was drawing attention to the condition of the paving. We removed all the old slabs and laid a new patio in block paving. We also added steps and paths to connect the new patio to the other area of paving. The customer was delighted with their new garden which was now an attractive outside space that they enjoyed spending time in.

Block paved driveway in Norwich

The original driveway was shingle which had begun to look patchy and untidy. A few paving slabs lead up to the front door and the front steps were made of concrete. The remainder of the garden was laid to turf. We removed the shingle and lawn and increased the width of the driveway so a separate path to the front door was no longer needed. We laid a block paved driveway, new brick steps and a brick border for planting. We also laid new stone to replace the old lawn. The materials used in the new front garden tied in with the colours of the house and the area was now much easier to manage.

Gravel driveway replaced with block paving Norwich

The gravel driveway was letting weeds through and had begun to look untidy. A manhole cover was clearly visable.
A block paved driveway was laid to create a large parking area which was low maintenance and enhanced the appearance of the front garden. The manhole cover was hidden by the installation of an insert cover using the same blocks.

Tarmac driveway replaced with block paving Norwich

The existing driveway was laid to tarmac and was only wide enough for one car. The rest of the garden contained a border, brick path, stone chippings and lawn.
We reduced the size of the border and laid a block paved driveway, extending this up to the front door, which allowed parking for a second car. By using block paving to replace the tarmac, brick path and stone chippings, a more unified area was created.

Concrete driveway replaced with block paving in Norwich

The driveway was constructed from concrete but this had cracked over the years and allowed weeds to grow through. We removed the concrete and laid 'silver haze' blocks in a stretcher bond pattern with matching edging blocks. We swept the driveway around in a curve to a path towards the front door using the same blocks. There was previously a small strip of grass between our customer's driveways and their neighbour's. We laid a strip of shingle between the two driveways to improve the appearance of the boundary. The new block paved driveway updated the approach to the house giving it a more contemporary look.

Brickweave driveway in Norwich with turning area

The property had a gravel driveway to the front and side. The areas of driveway and lawn were not defined as gravel has spread onto the grass and grass had grown through the driveway. To the front of the house, the driveway was too narrow to turn a car on easily.
We widened the driveway to the front to make turning much easier and laid burnt ember block paving in a brickweave herringbone pattern with a contrasting charcoal border. The new brickweave driveway transformed the approach to the house and gave the property a fresh updated appearance.
